Farm Frites Poland SA (FFP) is among the leading manufacturers of frozen French fries in Central and Eastern Europe. The company was established in 1993 as a joint venture between two Dutch potato product producers: Aviko B.V. and Farm Frites B.V.
Currently, three state-of-the-art production lines at the Lębork facility enable the manufacture of approximately 60 different types of fries, potato pancakes, and flakes. The primary customer of FFP is McDonald’s, which the Lębork-based company supplies across 12 European markets.
Farm Frites Poland SA ensures the highest quality and safety of its products through stringent control of the production process and careful selection of high-quality raw materials. This commitment is evidenced by the company’s possession of key industry certifications, which are regularly renewed.
Implementation goal
Expansion and modernization of the WLAN infrastructure in the industrial area
Deployment of an office WLAN network
Benefits of implementation:
Network stability and reliability
Secure communication
Efficient handling of warehouse operations
Improved work quality and operational efficiency
System scalability and expandability
The need to expand network coverage within the enterprise and implement a professional solution in this area led Farm Frites Poland S.A. to consider the offering of the Kraków-based company SKK S.A. As part of demonstrating its expertise and experience in deploying network solutions—particularly in production and warehouse environments—SKK organized a reference visit to the Koszalin branch of Espersen, a company for which SKK S.A. had previously implemented a network system operating across multiple international sites.
The choice of the reference site was deliberate, as Espersen’s industrial areas include, similarly to those of FFP, cold storage and freezing facilities. The visit proved to be the most compelling endorsement—after which FFP’s decision-makers had no doubts in selecting SKK S.A. as the network implementation partner for their organization.
Until now, FFP had been utilizing a LAN and, to a limited extent, a WLAN. However, the existing infrastructure and equipment did not meet current standards, resulting in insufficient network performance and a lack of operational continuity.
We have experienced firsthand that SKK Networks is a reliable and professional business partner. We can now confidently recommend this Kraków-based company. The implemented solution has had a highly positive impact on the operations of our entire enterprise, significantly improving processes such as order picking, goods identification, and other warehouse operations.
SKK Networks activities
The execution of the task by SKK specialists initially involved conducting a site survey and measuring signal propagation using a testing device. Based on the collected data, a system design was prepared, including the selection of appropriate equipment and its optimal placement.

Due to the required modernization of the existing LAN cabling infrastructure, which the new wireless network was to integrate with, SKK additionally developed a dedicated design for the cabling upgrade. The installation of the FFP cabling was carried out independently by the client, while remaining in close consultation with SKK experts and following their technical recommendations. Subsequently, the process moved on to the installation, configuration, and commissioning of the wireless network. All project and implementation activities were carried out without disrupting the company’s day-to-day operations.
The wireless network deployment covered the office area, warehouse facilities, and a portion of the production zone. A significant aspect of the implementation was the environmental challenge presented by the cold storage areas, which constitute a large part of the warehouse space and are maintained at approximately -25°C. The warehouse section also includes laboratories where continuous product quality control takes place — a process to which FFP attaches great importance.
SKK Networks specialists adapted the network to meet all our requirements, provided high-quality equipment, and offered competent consulting. We finally have peace of mind regarding our network infrastructure.
The implemented solution is based on Cisco’s network infrastructure. It includes access points centrally managed by a wireless LAN controller. The enterprise has been equipped with two controllers, one of which functions as a backup. This redundant controller has been properly configured to automatically take over in the event of a primary controller failure. This setup enhances network security and ensures operational continuity.
In the cold storage areas, dedicated access points were deployed—specifically designed to operate in extremely demanding environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, ingress protection, and mechanical durability. In the remaining warehouse and production zones, access points were installed in specialized enclosures. These enclosures provide additional protection and help maintain optimal operating temperature and humidity levels for the devices.
Results
After the implementation was completed, SKK S.A. conducted a training session for the system administrator. Service and warranty support was also provided for the installed devices, including a next-business-day hardware replacement service in the event of failure. Under a separate agreement, the Kraków-based company continues to deliver technical support services.
The implementation work related to the network at FFP is not yet fully completed. The company plans to expand wireless network coverage to the remaining production areas.
