Greek Trade Sp. z o.o., established in 1992, is a manufacturer, distributor, and importer of food products. Over the course of 25 years, the company has secured a leading position in the European market.
At its production facility located in Porszewice near Łódź, the company manufactures a wide range of products under its proprietary brands—Helcom, Biooaza, Barri, Ahina—as well as under private labels for its clients. The product portfolio includes, among others: preserved vegetables and fruits, roasted fruits, jams, fruit spreads, cake fillings, vegetable and fruit pastes, and bruschetta toppings.
The continuous modernization of production lines, expansion of the raw material base, strict adherence to technological standards, and recruitment of qualified personnel enable the company to maintain the highest standards of production quality while ensuring the delivery of safe products that meet all applicable regulations and standards.
The company has implemented and continuously improves its ISO Quality Management System. It holds HACCP certification as well as Organic Farming Certification. In addition to its own manufacturing, Greek Trade Sp. z o.o. imports and distributes food products from over 70 countries worldwide. As a result, its offering includes even the most exotic fruits and vegetables, as well as the widest selection of Greek wines available on the market.
Implementation goal
Extension of network coverage to the newly developed area
Benefits of implementation:
Efficient handling of warehouse operations
Network stability and reliability
Secure communication
Autonomous network operation mechanism
System scalability
Increased enterprise efficiency
The offer presented by Greek Trade is directed towards retail chains, foodservice wholesalers, restaurants, hotels, fruit and vegetable processing plants, as well as bakeries and confectioneries that source their supplies from distribution centers located in Kraków and the aforementioned Porszewice. Additionally, the company successfully exports finished goods to numerous countries, primarily within Europe. Greek Trade has received multiple awards in recognition of its impeccable product quality and dynamic growth, including distinctions such as the FMCG Market Pearl 2010, Forbes’ Diamonds 2015, and numerous accolades in the “Business Gazelles” ranking.
As a result of its dynamic expansion, Greek Trade decided to enlarge its production facility. Consequently, to ensure the proper and efficient functioning of the enterprise, it became necessary to extend the network infrastructure to cover the newly established area. Building upon the successful collaboration in previous years, in 2016 the company’s management once again entrusted Kraków-based SKK S.A. with the execution of this task. The two companies had previously worked together several years earlier, during which SKK not only designed and implemented the network but also supplied automatic identification equipment.
Once again, we placed our trust in SKK S.A., and once again, they delivered as expected. The team of specialists at SKK effectively rose to the challenge—selecting an optimal solution tailored to our needs and executing its implementation with professionalism. The network system operates reliably, which significantly contributes to the dynamic growth of our enterprise. It can be said that the network evolves alongside our facility, as each expansion of the plant necessitates an extension of the network coverage area. Therefore, we view our cooperation with SKK as a forward-looking, strategic partnership.
SKK Networks activities
The SKK Network Team designed a new solution that was precisely aligned with the client’s requirements—not only expanding the existing network infrastructure but also successfully integrating the new network with the previously implemented system. The deployment process commenced with radio wave propagation measurements, which served as the basis for designing both LAN and WLAN architectures. The selected solution was Cisco Mobility Express.
In the newly added section of the facility, namely the high-bay warehouse, a new distribution point was installed, equipped with both active and passive components. The active equipment includes an enterprise-class industrial Cisco switch and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The switch’s role is to power access points using Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, while the UPS ensures power backup for the switch and access points in the event of a power outage. A fiber optic link was routed to the distribution point to integrate it with the existing network infrastructure. From there, Ethernet cabling was extended to the designated access point installation locations, as previously defined in the network design plan.

In the newly established area of the facility, Cisco 1832 Series access points with integrated antennas were installed, and a portion of previously decommissioned access points from the original network was repurposed. This approach aimed to optimize network performance by adapting the original infrastructure to the new environment without the need for a complete replacement of all devices. Leveraging the Cisco Mobility Express solution, the network operates without the requirement for a dedicated wireless controller. Network management is handled via a virtual controller embedded in one of the access points.
Results
Upon completion of the installation process—including work at height and appropriate configuration—measurements confirmed excellent network performance parameters, fully aligned with the project specifications. The wireless system operates autonomously and dynamically responds to environmental changes by optimizing access point power levels and channel allocations. The need for manual intervention is minimized. Additionally, the system is designed for seamless scalability: newly deployed access points are automatically configured. The implementation utilizes state-of-the-art, enterprise-grade Cisco hardware (switch and access points), supporting the 802.11ac wireless standard. These devices deliver high performance and energy efficiency, and are specifically engineered for deployment in demanding environments. They ensure high-quality wireless communication, which enables reliable and seamless operation of mobile devices. As a result, warehouse operations are significantly improved due to increased speed and accuracy of tasks, along with a reduction in operational errors.

As part of the implementation, SKK conducted training for the system administrator, and the supplied network equipment was covered by an extended 3-year manufacturer service contract.
