Ceramika Color Sp. z o.o. was founded in 2002 and has been a privately-owned company since its inception.
In 2008, it became part of a group with Polish-Italian capital, which includes: Ceramika Końskie Sp. z o.o. (wall tiles), Ceramika Stargres Sp. z o.o. (glazed porcelain stoneware), Cotto Petrus Sp. z o.o. (bisque), and StarDust Sp. z o.o. (granulate for glazed stoneware production).
Ceramika Color Sp. z o.o. cooperates with the largest DIY and interior design retail chains, such as Castorama, Leroy Merlin, and OBI, as well as with a broad network of its own wholesale partners. Thanks to this, CC products are available in many locations across the country. The company is also gradually increasing its export sales, which in 2013 accounted for over 25% of the company’s total sales.
Implementation goal
Expansion of the radio network
Benefits of implementation:
Increased warehouse efficiency
Improved quality and efficiency of production management
Control over goods turnover
Data and naming consistency within the system
Ceramika Color Sp. z o.o. meets the growing demands of its customers through investments in technological development – utilizing the highest quality raw materials and semi-finished products in production – as well as technical advancement by modernizing its existing machinery and investing in new equipment. As part of its development, the production plant in Końskie has implemented the global standard for marking logistic units in compliance with GS1.
The implementation went very smoothly. It was even completed earlier than we initially anticipated. Once again, we were convinced that we can rely on the expertise of SKK Networks’ employees. The WLAN modernization fully resolved our issues – we are satisfied with the results.
SKK Networks activities
The implementation of the above task was entrusted to SKK S.A. As one of the few companies in the industry, it provided comprehensive support for all planned investments by Ceramika Color. As part of the first stage of the investment, SKK carried out:
- Installation of operator label printing stations (application certified for GS1 compliance), integrated with the ERP system;
- Construction of a cost-effective island-based radio network;
- Implementation of a WMS system using the SKK Smart mobile application (application certified for GS1 compliance).
In the next phase of the investment, the following were completed:
- Implementation of WMS in the CK and SG plants;
- Installation of automatic labeling systems integrated with production automation (line with palletizers and conveyors), marking with GS1 logistics labels (CC, CK, SG plants);
- Expansion of the radio network at the CC plant and transition to online mobile operations.

Results
The implementation of the GS1 logistics label in CC is distinguished by the use of a 2D DataMatrix code. The 2D label serves as a carrier of additional information, including the internal item code and product name. As a result, all data concerning the pallet’s contents and the specific characteristics of the goods are accessible without the need to communicate with the host system.
The use of GS1 labels with a unique SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) ensures complete traceability of logistic units—from their formation, through internal handling and storage, loading, and processing in logistics centers, up to final delivery to the end customer.
